Main Purpose of Job

The Junior Engineer role offers vocational experience with a view to progress into more senior engineering positions at Sysco Productions. The role encompasses both Design and Production Engineering disciplines. 

Being a small company there is the potential for rapid growth and development, with junior engineers typically progressing to take on their own projects as the lead engineer after about a year. You will be encouraged to take ownership of tasks and projects, attend meetings, site visits, take part in the manufacturing process, etc. You will also  work alongside other engineers, learning about their projects and supporting them in the delivery of key information and milestones.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

1/ To learn about different technologies used in the AV industry and how these may be integrated into real life systems.

2/ To support lead engineers in the delivery of projects.

3/ To coordinate with external contractors to ensure site services and trades can accommodate the AV system.

4/ To produce the technical documents required for the delivery of a project in coordination with the project’s PM and lead engineer.

5/ To support the installation team throughout the project delivery process to ensure they receive appropriate information and support. Site visits will often be required.

Skills / Behaviour / Experience

  • Educated to degree level or relevant experience on Audio Visual Engineering
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Positive and pragmatic in approach
  • Good attention to detail 
  • Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work on multiple projects 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Computer Aided Design (CAD) experience would be an advantage, but training will be provided.
  • Drivers License
