THE STORY SPACE
Glenfiddich, the world’s most awarded Single Malt Scotch Whisky, partnered with iconic 5-star Hotel Café Royal, to create a serene winter experience within the Green Bar – titled ‘Escape to the Valley of the Deer’. Offering a limited-edition and specially curated whisky dessert pairing menu by Hotel Café Royal’s iconic Head Pastry Chef, Michael Kwan, visitors enjoyed a unique set of sweet couplings each paired to perfection with an opulent array of Glenfiddich’s finest single malts.
THE STORY NARRATIVE
Guests were transported from Piccadilly to Hotel Café Royal’s Green Bar through an illuminated mirrored valley portal. The bar was brought to life through stunning preserved grass and floral arrangements, juxtaposed against the metallic and stone interior and abstracted brass antlers representing Glenfiddich’s iconic Stag logo. The scenic and picturesque escape continued on the terrace, with an opulent, bespoke designed heated seating area. The Green Bar was designed for this experience by multi-disciplinary creative studio 5HT to create a warm, calm atmosphere from the inside out.
THE STORY ENGINEERING
As part of the design, Sysco collaborated with the team at 5HT to abstract The Valley of the Deer concept into an impressive digital surrealist landscape. Using 7000 Lumen rear projection, media content was displayed within the door frame to reveal Glenfiddich’s iconic stag beyond the glass panels. Seamlessly disguised guaze embedded within the door acted as the perfect canvas to present this custom designed digital illusion, which enhanced Glenfiddich’s brand presence, as well as heightening the overall visitor experience.
