THE STORY SPACE
Sysco Productions partnered with the National Portrait Gallery on their ‘Inspiring People’ transformation project, which presents a comprehensive array of brand new audio visual technology as part of the collection redisplay across nine galleries and throughout the restored Grade I listed building.
THE STORY NARRATIVE
Designed by Jamie Fobert Architects, the project comprises a complete re-presentation of the collection, combined with a significant refurbishment of the building, the creation of public spaces, a more welcoming visitor entrance and public forecourt, in addition to a new Learning Centre. The Gallery will reopened to the public on 22 June 2023, following a three-year closure and a £35.5 million redevelopment project.
THE STORY ENGINEERING
Closely collaborating with the NPG team and the exhibition designers Nissen Richards Studio, Sysco were a key collaborator during the redesign of the spaces, helping to reimagine the digital interpretation of the many masterpieces being exhibited.
A stunning large scale projection transforms the new visitor entrance for guests’ arrival before they begin their exploration of the vast collection which includes films, interactive media and digital content.
